Bio

I was born in California and have lived in many places including New England, the southwest of the United States, the midwest and the west coast.  I live now on an island in the Pacific Northwest.

My art education was earned through the public schools of California, community colleges and State Universities. I went to West Valley college to get my A.A.  I earned a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from San Jose State University, and an M.F.A. in sculpture from the University of Arizona.  Post graduate work in the book arts has been numerous classes and workshops at the San Francisco Center for the Book

I taught Studio Art and Art History at the college level for many years.  In those 30 years I found joy and excitement in sharing the world of art.  In the process of sharing with students I also learned much from them.  I'd like to think, in those years that I followed in the footsteps of other great Artist/Instructors.

I hope that what I taught and shared has gone out into the world to make it a better place than when I started.

Today, I follow where my intuition leads me in the studio.  One day is painting, the next day artist books, printmaking or something else entirely...
